Re: CHAMPIONS
As I said to you today, you are now without doubt a Yeltz legend. We haven't had one for many, many years and you should be very proud of yourself for your commitment and performances. A big thank you and hope for more of the same next season!!!

Re: CHAMPIONS
Well done lads. Not a classic by any definition but both sides were well organised and you guys managed to grind out the win. Not sure you'll agree but in my mind the referee was out of his depth today and seemed to want you to win. Your fans and players were all a credit to your club and all I can do is wish you the best for next season. Hope to visit you then!

Re: CHAMPIONS
Mate I thought the ref was poor and did not see how he favoured us. Your number 3 tried to elbow Ben 10 in the early parts of the game and always seemed to get decision when he was the offender and should have been double yellowed.BelperSteej wrote: Not sure you'll agree but in my mind the referee was out of his depth today and seemed to want you to win. That apart you have a nice set up there and I wished your players and manager in the bar and you fans on here good luck in the playoffs.
We deserved to win today and the league as champions. Since Christmas we have been top all for except one week.
Our manager when at another club finished second to Coalville when his team had over 100 points and missed out on promotion.
So for him to win this league with 91 points is truly amazing.
We are deservedly Champions.

Re: CHAMPIONS
Thought I would wait till this morning before I posted to give the alcohol chance to clear my system !
What a day ! Enjoyed the train journey singing and chanting on the platforms, through the town, having a contest against the Swindon fans, we really let people know who we were and how proud of our team we are.
The game itself as soon as we took the lead and held onto it till half time I knew we were going to do it. Correct me if I am wrong but I don't think Belper really had any clear cut chances. Thought they were a good team and I really wish them well in the play offs, we got the 2nd half which was the icing on the cake, a lot of us then started singing "champions" etc, as barring a miracle there was no way back for Belper.
Thought the facilities were excellent as was the stadium, the steward behind the goal with us 2nd half was fantastic too, he knew we were just supporting our team and wanted us to enjoy our day !
Just want to say a huge thanks to everyone associated with HTFC, all the work put in, the time, money etc. The management, players, chairman, directors etc etc, this has been a long time coming, personally speaking I only started supporting the club when things started going pear shaped 6 years ago, all I ever known is bad times, but yesterday was just absolutely fantastic, the team spirit we have is amazing, I would love to see as many players from this season still at The Grove next season, there is no reason why we can't build on this and have many successful years !
Johnny Hills Barmy Army ! Up the Yeltz ! Champions !

Re: CHAMPIONS
What a superb day that I'll remember for years. Here's what I remember:
Swindon fans on train, smashing lads, but we out sang them
Pile on with ZeeZee after second goal
Meeting Raiden and his lovely other half
Rumour of Doc crying at final whistle
Drinking beer (I think) from the cup with the team
Tonksy informing me he didn't score his screamer at Loughborough because he heard me scream at him "f*cking hit it!"
Aaron Griffiths nutmegging me outside the bar after I challenged him to a one on one
Telling Ben to his face I loved him and he still had his photo took with me
JMG at the station?!
Probably best time I've ever had at a pub pre-match, the George
The Belper hospitality, beautiful place, brilliant and welcoming fans; if there are any Belper fans reading this your stewards were fantastic!
Woke up with over eighty pics on my phone and a massive bruise on my leg!
