'Twas St Leonard's.
I had a chat with him after one of the matches, having read both of his books, and he was a nice chap.

My aged memory fails me but he scored, I expect you're right. What about his hat-trick at Bath? Also a night match, one of the best ever.
I believe it's difficult to judge given the different leagues/standards but who's the best Piearce or Haseley? I've a suspicion that Ben could be as good as anyone as far as playing for The Yeltz is concerned.

If we restrict it to mortals: Paul, Piearce, Ben, Evran, Troy.
But give it another few seasons, especially if he's tested at a higher level, then that could well change.

As good as he has proved to be, can we really count Troy as he was only with us for 10 games as a loan player? Admittedly, 8 in 10 was pretty impressive and he was obviously in a different class both in terms of class and fitness level

Adding Deano to that list, if they all played at the same time (impossible I appreciate) but we would never have had any need for a defence!

Such a shame - no Lacey, Eric, Penna, Rodwell, Sherwood, Sirs Les and Les, Woody, et al.

We've had some great defenders too.

Not to mention midfield. Or keepers. Or managers. Or kit men. Tea ladies.

Not to mention Fred and Arthur - men of many talents.

Tea ladies......serving out of the hatch in the old changing rooms pavilion. When cups were emptied they were hung on the iron railings. Also serving out of the hatch at the back of the Old Hawne Lane stand.
Reminds me I read last week the match programme when Old Hawne Lane was officially opened, August 1950 I think, sadly failed to pack it in my suitcase.
