Re: Eastwood, The FA and our club
Just checked on companies house and as I thought and most people in the know appreciate, Steve is not a Director of HTFC - so why should we be effected?
In answer to HH's 3 questions:
1) Yes it is worth a look on Eastwoods forum but a lot of speculation from their fans.
Capinjazz has put them right on a few matters.
2) Yes we will be allowed in the FA cup next year (we probably will not be playing Eastwood though)
3) Most people in the know are aware of how the club is run and who puts the money in and are happy with this.
Many simply do not care as long as they can watch football.
I hate posts when people suggest they know something that others do not - if you have something to say HH then be more direct.
Times are good at the Grove at the moment so let's hope it stays that way!

Has Lord Lutley been dishing out the rose tinted specs again? I love the Happy Clappy brigade, 'we're alright, damn everyone else' I hear the cry.
Solidarity begins at home for sure (in Halesowen anyway).

We're second having been top for a while. For the first time in many years there's an air of positivity and fans are slowly coming back.
New bar in the ground which will be a good solid source of income - that's just from me!
John Hill can sign players as and when we need then, ok not a massive budget as we know but he doesn't have his hands tied.
A group of players who genuinely seem very happy to be here and actually love playing for the club.
I'd say there's a lot to be happy about and a damn good reason to be a 'happy clapper'.

Re: Eastwood, The FA and our club
Its a shame for Eastwood, and I think its a bad thing when any non league club goes. Its unfortunate that one name has linked us to this mess at Eastwood. But it is just one out of a lot of people working hard for our club. I like Steve he seems to be always working hard on match day. But could not you tell how he is responsible if at all responsible for the state Eastwood find them selves in. That said I'm going to clap the lads when I'm happy which to be fair is most games and enjoy what goes on on the pitch for the rest of the season.

Re: Eastwood, The FA and our club
One of the reasons I came to watch Halesowen after many years of following the Villa was because I'd fallen out of love with the modern game. I was sick of being treated like a customer rather than a supporter. I was sick of the money dictating the game. So what has this got to do with this thread?
I'm very much in the 'happy clappers' camp if you like, I always try to take a positive from everything, even after the 0-3 thumping by Coalville I tried to find positives. I'm very much like that as a person guess. As a Yeltz supporter I'm still very much wearing my 'P' plates I guess, and have only read about and listened to the stories of the bad years of M**s*n. Clearly nobody involved with the club wants history to repeat itself there.
As a 'happy clapping, P plate supporting Yeltz fan' I've been around long enough to know that in every organisation there is internal politics, as a 'supporter', in the main, I'm not too interested in the politics as long as, what is going on on the pitch is right. Generally speaking as football supporters that really sums all of us up, we only really question things when things aren't right. One of things that has struck me about Halesowen is the friendly nature of the people. Most of my mates are still going to the Villa or Albion and try as I might just aren't ready yet to make the change I have. I go on my own to home games but always find people to chat to. Some who have been supporters for years, some who are relatively new to this level of football and also members of the Halesowen Committee as well as players. There is very much an 'ethos' about the club. I'm not sure how long it has been there, but it is one that I like. I like fact that people have been welcoming to me and are friendly.
I too signed up to the Eastwood forum a couple of weeks ago for a nose, the thing that struck me most was the amount finger pointing and apparent lack of anyone seemingly doing anything constructive. Whilst I can sympathise with the plight of Eastwood Town, and hope they can somehow recover the situation I can't help but feel that at Halesowen that wouldn't ever happen without a bloody good fight.
Yes, I understand Halesowen almost went bump, and due to the actions of people the club kept above water, albeit just. Therefore, I think it is important that posts like this one CAN be healthy for the club if posts are well thought out and are based on fact. There is nothing wrong with people questioning the club in my opinion, a 'critical friend' can often be your best friend. For every 'happy clapper' like me, it is important that there are people who are equally as prepared to think of the long term future of the club.
John Hill and the lads on the pitch are very much in this together, as fans we need to do the same, after all, we all want the same thing, and that is what is best for Halesowen Town. Just as those at Eastwood want the best for their club.
Maybe this debate should continued once the season has finished, in the meantime let's all get behind the club to try and get to where we ALL want to be!
Up the Yeltz!

There seems to be a lot of essays on the subject of 'I've missed the point'.

Re: Eastwood, The FA and our club
If I've 'missed the point' and my 'essay' offends, then please feel free to enlighten me. I'm not proposing to know anything about the club other than what I see on the pitch. I want the same as any other Halesowen Town fan, the best for the club. Cliques, and people 'in the know' do nothing other than make our support divisive, this will not help the team or the club long term. Just an opinion of course...Colin Bobble wrote:There seems to be a lot of essays on the subject of 'I've missed the point'.
