Re: All Change At Bromsgrove
A much needed change. Clubs really struggled with no real leadership or direction. Crowds falling and therefor budget. Alienated many fans with ongoing behind the scenes issues and power struggles. Good for them but maybe not for us as I can see them improving over time now.
Wasnt Mike Burke once associated with our club and fell out with people here also?

Re: All Change At Bromsgrove
With regards to Mike Burke, I would like it to be known that Mike whilst at Halesowen was very generous with donations.
The one season when Shaun Cunnington was manager, and players played for nothing, Mike paid for the coaches on away trips.
We currently enjoy pre match drinks in the James Grove lounge, which mostly paid for by Mike.
Also you will see on the back of our shirts, and around the pitch reference to the Big Pet Store, this is a business first started by Mike and now run by his son Darren.
Hope this post balances up some of the flack Mike is getting.

Re: All Change At Bromsgrove
How Mike has put up with the flack at Bromsgrove so long is beyond me.
As to ourselves, most folk don’t realise that without his generosity there would not have been a club for Keith and Karen to take over. He helped Steve Lynch out of more financial holes than you can shake a stick at. The reason he finally left is a private matter between Mike and Steve.
I wish Bromsgrove well, and perhaps I am an old cynic, but the telling line in Mike’s resignation statement was that the new “investors” will bring in sponsorship “on a commission basis” …..make of that what you will.

Re: All Change At Bromsgrove
Maybe he should come back in some capacity now then, especially with his son already involved. Could be a good addition to the board?

Yes I was thinking that, definitely would be good to have him back on board.

If I remember correctly there was an issue between him and Paul Smith, that led Paul to resign

Re: All Change At Bromsgrove
Maybe it's not a good idea if he returns then lol. Plus I have listened to a radio worcestshire interview done the other day were Mike Burke says bromsgrove is in his heart and he has a season ticket and still plans to go, not sure how long that will last though? Although I am sure he would have said that about Halesowen all those years ago. I do find it very odd when a person can change the club they support I think that's fair to say for 99.9% of us. It takes a unique sort of individual to do that in my opinion.
