Re: Banbury
Well that was a breath of fresh air. First half we were the better side but second half we dominated. That win has been around the corner under the management and today it was fully deserved.
We played the ball on the floor, got it out wide and looked dangerous with most attacks. Taylor and Kelly down the left is a combination we should and did take advantage of. Sweeney was fantastic all match, and scored an absolute worldy. From that moment on the confidence flowed back and you could see the difference in the team.
I've seldom felt buzzing coming out the Grove, but today I am. Just a shame not many fans were there to see it.
Bloody great.

Thought Bakare was excellent, reminded me of Ali, when he could be bothered last season.lutleyyeltz wrote: ↑29 Dec 2018, 17:30Agree there, Andy. Definitely MOM!
The little terrier, Bakare, ran him close, though.

Re: Banbury
So, after 12 league games without a win the monkey is off our back. And so well deserved. I can't remember the last time I saw a Town team so determined to win every ball, to chase every lost cause, simply to give so much. Something has changed, the team seems to have a focus, a direction, a pattern to play to. Early doors there were too many hopeful long balls for my liking but then we just grew into the game, we started knocking the ball around and creating chances. Second half we won everything and deservedly got 2 goals in front. Sweeney scored a worldy and then seemed to find new confidence and look the player we know he is. On the day we are discussing the departure of Asa the 2 centre halves never missed a ball all day and Fitzpatrick especially was emmense. Kelly and Bragoli dropped on boxing Day return and have excellent games, Bragolis leadership never ceased all game. Bakare looked class, Hughes never stopped running (and tracking back!) and deserved his goal. Platty looked confident espessially in his role as sweeper, I think he had more headers than anyone!! Curley got MOM and Taylor gave them a tough time on the break and Rae did well for us in the middle of the park. And that I believe is all 11 of them. A good team performance to build on and 3 very, very important points.
