Fair enough, you're forgiven. Seriously though talking about scraping round for cash to go to games, I don't know how anyone affords it these days. Watching Premier games on the tv there are thousands still travelling up to double our distances and then paying for the family to get in at £30-40 pound a throw. And then the same next week. I'm not even prepared to pay the fuel prices anymore let alone the cost of the day out.

Absolutely.
Although, in my defence, I did fraudulently sign on for some of the time.

Fantastic thread and many great memories. This was a superb period for the club and I think this team wouldn't be far from the pinnacle.
First photo- I thought Kevin Harrison at first glance, so I'm feeling doubly confident with seeing him in the lineup that day. I'm willing to go along with Doc on Snapper's arse

.
And, yes, Jason Owen's wondergoal was indeed something I remember well. I think it took him well over five minutes to complete his dribble from the halfway line. A hush had long fallen over the Shed by the time he finally reached the area and, upon slotting home, he went on one of those "I've-never-scored-in-my-lifetime-so-I'm going-to-make-the-most-of-it" celebrations. He's probably still dining out on it now, bringing out those newspaper clippings for supporting evidence.

Going back to my earlier post on the dudlay match. Having interrogated Toby Hall last evening , it appears that I was slightly eh wr...g or mistaken. Toby told me that it was definitely Stevie Ingrams hit that floored Danson , who had apparently been involved in somekind of controversy whilst officiating a league match the previous week. Toby also claims that he scored twice in the match. He said that he could n't believe that Jim Rodwell gave him so much space to control the ball and run at him , by standing off him so much. Regarding his Halesowen career, he never signed or played for us, which is probably why he never scored for us. He was approached by Hally but had already shook hands with Chambers to sign for Dudlay. There you have it via the hosses mouth Doc.

Just an FYI, I had to move where Yeltzland has retired to, so finding the old match reports has been a bit of a mess for the last couple of months.
However this thread prompted me to do a bit of work this morning, and you can now see an index of them all (1997-2006) at
http://www.yeltzland.net/news.html
Unfortunately no match report of the game where Jason Owen scored his "wonder goal"
http://www.yeltzland.net/2000/04/24/SAF ... STYLE.html, but a few gems in there if you search hard enough!
