Hmm...
Anybody else get the feeling all is not well behind the scenes. It was mooted weeks ago that these very players would leave and so they have. The backbone of a side in the making has gone. To Evesham...
Ben going was always on the cards, but the others? Something is very wrong.

Re: Hmm...
Disagree - Chas said Botfield going might be due to his studies, Kelly was often ridiculed by fans and Barnfield might have thought that he's done all he can for the Yeltz; I've learned that it's not good form to be derogatory to players when they exit as they may well come back but it was pointed out to me (I should have known if I'd looked properly) about Barney's & Ben's stats (don't we all love a good stat?) :-
Barnfield - 2 goals for the club. Considering he was club captain and midfield this output is poor
Haseley - scored once against the top 7 teams in the league last season
I won't take credit for knowing those stats, and nobody wanted Ben to stop at the club more than me.
As for it being all murky behind the scenes I don't see it that way as that dressing room wanted to play for JH & the club - I honestly think that JH is having a clearout and bringing a load of players in that we'll be skeptical of at first because they will need time to gel.
I shouldn't put an omen on it but I hope Griffiths stays

i would have thought that john hill would have liked to have kept all last seasons players but he of course is going to strengthen the squad..you dont suppose one or two of the old players could see that it would be their positions that would be strengthened do you.....?

I like this statement - it turns a negative into a positive... and tbh I'm slightly excited over what will develop until the start of the seasonwatsisnerm wrote:i would have thought that john hill would have liked to have kept all last seasons players but he of course is going to strengthen the squad..you dont suppose one or two of the old players could see that it would be their positions that would be strengthened do you.....?

Re: Hmm...
Barney's output was so much more than scoring goals, regularly gave his all for the yeltz cause. Good luck to him

Good point LLL - I was trying to put a positive spin on good players leaving the club.Laurel Lane Lamper wrote:Barney's output was so much more than scoring goals, regularly gave his all for the yeltz cause. Good luck to him
Also, Mr. Haseley has informed me that he scored one against KL, one against Chase-Me Town, one against Coalville & two against Sutton.
Should do a bit more research before posting in future because, as a mate of mine so eloquently put it recently, I'm a "f****** idiot who knows nothing" (still laughing at that Johnny)

I'll leave the stats to the proper people from now LLL

@MitchBotfield: Just like to say a big thankyou to all the fans and management team at Halesowen. Fantastic club from top to bottom. All the best next yearandy wrote:Anybody else get the feeling all is not well behind the scenes. It was mooted weeks ago that these very players would leave and so they have. Re: Hmm...
Players come, players go, that will always be the case, a manager takes up a position at a different club and there will always be players associated with him that follow (just look at Hoogy & Leamington),Ben has moved for very different reasons, at his age time is short to make his mark at a higher level and only this morning I had a message from him explaining this, he was happy at HTFC but his chance has come, no one can begrudge him that chance.I am sure we all thank the players that are moving on for their service to our club and wish them well.
John Hill now has the task of rebuilding for next season, he has plenty of time and is well aware we have to keep up the progress we have shown as a club in the past two years.
I fail to see how these developments can be the signal that the club is doomed, its just how football is. We can only move the club forward if we all pull together and get behind whatever team represents us next season, hopefully with a genuine play off push.

Re: Hmm...
I'm new to this non-league supporting lark, so please bear with me a little and excuse my ignorance if you like. However, I thought it was common practice for there to be a large turnover of players at this level of football? I can understand the concern as it appears that the spine of the team appears to have all gone together. That said, If JH could get the players to perform as they did together, showing spirit, determination, fight, passion and pride in the club with players he pretty much inherited surely we should be excited to see what he can get out of players who HE chooses to bring to the club?

However, with most of our midfield gone, it'll be down to us lot to show JH patience for the first few games as the team understands each other, whomever is brought in. I dare say too that maybe one or two more will be leaving the Grove but again, it's down to us to show the new team how good it is to put on the Blue Shirt and, as ZeeZee quite rightly stated, get behind them.
Ben informed me that he loved every minute here at Halesowen, and a lot of other ex-players have said that too.
Not that I know Ben, I just proper stalked him on Facebook, 'nuff said
