Royston - OFF

Post by lutleyyeltz » 10 Jan 2025, 14:33

Pitch inspection tomorrow at 9.30am.
Having it that early tells me that it's just a formality.
Zero (pun intended) chance in my opinion.

Strange. If it's unplayable now it'll be worse in the morning. Admittedly I know nothing about what it takes to get a qualified ref to do the inspection, but it would save everybody ( especially from Royston) having to get up and prepare for an event that won't happen.

Unfortunately it does look like the decision is already 99% made.

I notice on the HTFC facebook that it mentions there will be a minutes applause before the game on Tuesday for the old groundsman Eric Baker RIP.

Would have said tomorrow or next home game if they thought a possibility of playing tomorrow.

Fingers crossed still been looking forward to the game all week.

Had a slight chance of being on with the frost covers that the club has, but forecast now for it to get as low as -6 and -7 overnight.

Unfortunately, for some reason only known to the Southern League they still won’t allow postponement until day of match. Unlike the National League and Nortgern Premier where even all weather pitches have already been postponed today. Indeed 7 of the ten scheduled 10 National league games called off this afternoon, with almost all of them having full time ground staff teams

Even the League One match between Shrewsbury and Huddersfield was called off earlier today

Surely the inspection could be done just by simply looking out of the bedroom window.
No chance for me that this game will take place
