Let’s focus on the positives - we have far too many fans for an allocation at an away game! It wasn’t that long ago there were away games with 20/25 there. Hopefully in years (months?) to come there will be other games where we have far too many fans!!

Funnily enough, I was saying the other day that I don't actually know who 90% of the people on this forum are in real life.

I think the only ones I can probably put a name to are Josh and Yeltzbaby ;D
You didnt get the invite to Xmas drinks last year?? I know Josh and Andy by sight but thats about it. Id imagine most folks here will have tickets tbh, given its a lot of long timers.

As JB said, concentrate on positives. The only people at fault are those that caved the bank in. The clubs have done the best they can.
Onwards and upwards.

Im a season ticket holder but really couldnt be bothered to go there.
View is crap and hate the ground.
Thinking about it though maybe I should have got a ticket and got the advice of people on here to sell it on to a regular who was unsuccessful in the ballot??

Turns out the league are to blame:

NO.9 DERBY UPDATE
Both clubs had discussions over the past few weeks about holding the no 9 Derby at The Grove for both fixtures. However, when plans were in place the Southern League have denied permission for the fixture to be moved grounds

I doubt they were too keen on us having 22 home games. Integrity of the league and all that. They might have agreed to a swap, but there's probably zero chance of Stourbr*dge sorting their problems out before February.

Reading some social media posts are dumb (literally) founding. Im not sure why people think both clubs havent looked into the alternatives they suggest. The basis being I cant get a ticket and its not fair. I do sometimes lose faith in people. I get its disappointing, but ffs.

One thing I have learnt through this process is how many regulars that go week-in-week out don't have a season ticket, or even a flexi!

Madness. How do these people sleep at night knowing they have to pay for each individual game. Psychopaths.

That's a fair point. No one knows the ins and outs, and I'm sure people have worked hard and looked at a number of alternatives, but I really do worry whether this is the safest option, or even most logical? I'm fully expecting it to 'kick off' in the two stands on Saturday, given the fact there will be Yeltz 'fans' (idiots) in the home end.

I do understand the argument that it may be seen that we'd have an extra home game, but surely switching the game to the Grove as a last resort, when both teams agreed, is logical. The league haven't been very helpful here. Why would they prefer to see a game played at an un-safe venue and see one of their clubs lose out on a good money maker (I assume Stour would have kept all gate receipts if it was played at the Grove). It's hardly unheard of for teams to share a ground over the course of a season in the same league, so I really don't understand the leagues stance on this!

The whole situation is ridiculous, regardless of who is to blame for the issue with the bank behind the Shed or what the two clubs have done behind the scenes. There is a safe, logical alternative that is staring all parties in the face, where no fan would miss out and be disappointed and it would generate more revenue than the current situation, yet it can't happen for whatever reason. Bizarre.

Whatever happened to common sense, eh?

A very good point, my esteemed friend.

The main reason for this - in my humble opinion - are the price points of the season tickets. Basically - if you stand to miss more than three home games in a season - then you're better off not buying a full season ticket. Now, I know I've missed three league games already and will no doubt miss a few more before the season end, so I'm one of the dummies that paid more than I needed to.

Meanwhile, the flexis are a better priced option - but how many people buy these instead of a full season ticket because of the above??

Part of me felt that the club should have made the full season tickets a bit more attractive price-wise, but maybe this is something to draw out next season when they go on sale - that you get priorotised for any limited tickets, etc - and then people might feel they get more value/status in getting a full ticket (and the club capture more revenue in the process)?
