Watching Sutton V Birmingham and seeing Sutton had a giraffe mascot my granddaughter asked why didn't we have a mascot?
I told her that I seem to remember us having one for a short time in perhaps the late 80s early 90s but I couldn't recall any other details.
Does anyone else remember this or am I suffering from one too many Sunday morning coffees

Re: Mascot
Yep. We had a lion for some reason in the early 2000s.
There’s a picture somewhere.
Quite why it was a lion, nobody knew. I suspect it was because the costume was the cheapest.
Or did you mean Paul Harding?

Re: Mascot
Actually a nice costume. But fuck all to do with Halesowen.
Although, I suppose that it’s difficult to make a furry suit that combines both a ‘Spoons AND an Asda.
