Next Season's squad

Post by Simons » 13 May 2024, 20:01

HALESOWEN TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB are delighted to confirm the first players to commit to the 2024-25 season as Russ Penn looks to build his squad.

Goalkeeper Daniel Platt and Fullback Jak Hickman have both committed to the Yeltz for next season.

Platty finished the season with a total of 294 games, being ever present last season.

Icky is currently on 41 games with three goals, both will be looking to add to these totals next season.

I cannot believe and are saddened that Penn is prepared for Issiwella to leave when he was probable the best attacking and defending , what the term, wing back , in the league and retain Hickman who showed in numerous games last season. that he is not up to it,

I still think a lot of you are writing Hickman off unneccessarily, personally. Eze is good, but a different type of good.

Hickman might hold an upper hand on Ezewele in that he can play as a winger. I've got a feeling it'll be four big heading machines at the back next season - I did think writing was on the wall for Eze, Hickman, and Mitchell tbf.

Really pleased Platty has signed on again. We would have to go a long way to find better. Great shot stopper, just needs to stop the occasional confusions with defenders that seemed to creep in last season. One of the best.

Really pleased Platty is staying (no brainer really I guess)
I am in the camp of not too impressed with Hiccy. His crossing was very poor last season but guessed by the number of games he played after Russ took over that he may be part of plans going forward.
Good luck to the lad and hope he kicks on next season.

I wonder if the fact that only 2 have as yet commited mean that others are looking at their options, or that Russ has not yet invited them to? There are certainly a few names I'm desperate to see.

Come on then spill. Who do you want to keep? And of course, who do you never want to see again?

I see Hayward has decided to leave. Can’t say I blame him only being offered pre-season.

I think Hayward has been struggling for most of the season with a back injury.
