Didn't play too bad, were not overawed. It was just the same old problem, created little, no attempts on target. Even if most of the team changes next year the one player I desperately hope wants to stay, and any knew manager wants to keep is our number one. Platt was superb again today and will will not replace him at that level. So it's all confirmed now, let's just finish this season with a bit of pride and look to next season with renewed optimism. Big congratulations to Kettering today, large contingent, well behaved, deserve to be champions.

It seems a long time ago that I travelled to Kettering to see us lose 2-0. Dan Platt was outstanding and I was amazed he didnt get MOM. Ill be happy if we can keep him, Morris and Lawton at least. Listened to Colin Brooks on the radio and it sounds like plans are in place for next year already. Onwards and hopefully upwards.

Congratulations Kettering. Whilst they are getting back towards a level with which they are more accustomed, I just hope we can do the same as quickly as possible. I'm not sure about retaining many of the current as they've been found badly wanting along with the others who've come and gone.

The only positive thing is that I'm closing in on a first Fantasy Island win. The depressing thing is how easy it has been to score at least 3 points on most weeks just by putting us down not to score.

It's s good job for you Hinckmeister didn't start his run earlier. After predicting Bedworth would beat us 3-1 he was the only one to get today's 0-1 also.

Much better performance today... just goes to show that there's not a lot of difference between top and bottom in this league!! Just goes to show how important a 20-30 goal striker is at any level.... as was evident again today, played well at times and the few chances actually created were wasted, not even on target..... story of most games this season as most supporters that go to the games will probably agree... not been hammered but no goals and that equates to little or no points..... priority for next season, a couple of goal scoring forwards and a fast tricky winger.... the squad that's here now needs to be added to and not rubbished or decimated as was by the last management team.... some good performances today and even in defeat players showed fight and passion and can be proud of that performance.... well done to lee and asa... getting the best out of the players they have got.... looking forward to next season after the very positive talks from the owners at the forum on Thursday shame at getting relegated ... but onwards and upwards....

As a side note, I though the Kettering vocal support was very poor, considering that they had the league won. It was as if they were the fans whose team had been relegated.

we all said the same and compared it to our title winning day at Belper.
That said the Kettering fans were top class and almost to a man/woman (person) wore the colours.

Halesowen Town 0 Kettering Town 1

Halesowen’s relegation from the Premier Division Central was finally confirmed whilst Kettering were crowned champions following their narrow victory.

Sam Dallow burst forward in the 5th minute as the Yeltz made an encouraging start. But tricky Kettering wide-man Rhys Hoenes created the first real chance when he weaved his way into the home penalty area after eight minutes, although his final shot was blocked for a corner. Jack Kelly delivered an 11th minute corner straight at goalkeeper Paul White and Sam Dallow’s 16th minute effort earned a Yeltz corner.

The league leaders stretched play across the park to strike their 19th minute winner when Dion Kelly-Evans crossed from the right for HOENES to steer the ball beyond home goalkeeper Dan Platt.

Despite plenty of effort, goal-shy Halesowen failed to register a first-half attempt on target and it was the Poppies who turned the screw with further chances before the interval. Dan Holman hit high over the bar in the 36th minute and a 45th minute shot from Lindon Meikle was saved by Platt with his legs. Platt then beat away another shot from Meikle shot in first half stoppage time.

At the start of the second period visiting captain Michael Richens struck at Platt and then just failed to connect properly with Marcus Kelly’s 52nd minute corner. Halesowen’s Aaron Birch played a short 55th minute corner for Kartel O’Neill-Martin to cross along goal, but the Poppies continued to create the better chances with Platt saving Holman’s effort from close range in the 59th minute. Craig Stanley then planted a free header wide from a Hoenes corner two minutes later.

Platt continued to restrict Kettering to a solitary goal with a fine late display of goalkeeping. The in-form goalkeeper made a great double 81st minute save to stop Marcus Kelly’s 20 yard free-kick and then somehow repositioned himself to keep out substitute Brett Solkhon’s header from the rebound.

Yeltz substitute Aaron Gilpin found space but blazed high in the 87th minute in a rare chance from the hosts. But it was Platt who was again in fine form to deny the Poppies as the home defence opened up in the dying minutes. Holman struck a low 90th minute shot at Platt and Platt then blocked Marcus Kelly with 90 minutes complete. Platt made yet another good block from Derek O’Connor in the second minute of stoppage time but the Poppies had already done enough to land the league title and their celebrations soon began surrounded by their large following of jubilant supporters on the pitch.
