I'm sure it was a hatrick! Definitely recall us being the away team. I'm certain it was a late decision / cock up too.
The football club didn't know the cricket were playing and the fixture had to be rearranged on the same day.

They were always to play that game at Halesowen as they didn't have the relationship with the cricket club that they do now.
And it enabled those that had boycotted the previous games that season (2 or 3) to attend (96 at home to Hemel went up considerably!)

I don't remember Richards though.
I've a vague recollection of a Matt Richards, although I might have made that up.
I can remember a tallish dark haired forward but he might have been Matthew Martin.
There was a young local lad with a tan and blond streaked hair who sort of rings a bell.

Matt Richards was a blond haired lad that came through from the Reserves to play a couple of games for the 1st team. Around same time as Stuart Grosvenor, Darren Goodall, Andy Lunt, Mark Creighton. I think that Reserves team won the League with Lee Joinson also in their side. I think Matt moved on to Causeway, Halesowen H******s etc
