I've tweeted the sentiments of this thread to Sutton.

The player has just tweeted me back. Thankfully the injury doesn't appear serious. Just a swollen ankle, for now.

An apology from the club and the Yeltz Family would be good. Just a statement to say they don't condone this type of behaviour and that they will be taking some action if it happens again. I am glad the injury wasn't worse.

I stood to the right of the back of the home dugout and the young " lady" to my left was giving it the "F" word when the player was injured. To make matters worse she had young children with her.
The one common denominator was that most of the abusers were clutching plastic glasses of beer, I would imagine hot weather combined with cold beer turned on their " idiot " mode...I am sure these people do not usually act like this at games.

Unfortunately the abuse of opposition players and referees has been going on down at the Grove for the last 4 or 5 years. It never used to be like this at Halesowen Town. Yes people complain about referees decisions, I understand that, but it's vicious and nasty now. I have complained about it before on this forum. So I'm afraid your last sentence isn't the case unfortunately

We all know the group that stands there. There has been no apology from any of them. Shame on them.

Yes, it's appalling that no apology has been issued.

I have also seen on twitter people suggesting it was only 'one fan' who was dishing the abuse out. It most certainly wasn't. There were at least 5 or 6 people doing it where I was stood and I was pretty far over to the left of the stand. So if people were doing it further along as well, you are probably looking at more like 30 people doing it rather than 1 person. Don't try and pretend and cover yourselves, the club needs to be honest and address the issue. But I wouldn't hold out any hope of them doing so because they never address anything that actually needs addressing, as is demonstrated by the fact John Hill is still here for example. They'd much rather block people and remove posts from their accounts because it is easier to do that than face the reality of what is actually happening. Halesowen Town most certainly isn't the club it used to be, I honestly don't know what it's become

9 The use of threatening behaviour, foul or abusive language is strictly forbidden and will result in arrest and/or ejection from the Ground. The Club may impose a ban for one or more Matches.
Taken from the ground regulations found on the club website - so it's clear the club don't want such behaviour at the Grove. I do wonder whether the club are looking into this incident. Given that it occurred right under Yeltz TV's nose, it may be easy to identify those guilty?

The club came out on social media and made a point when one of our players received abusive messages via social media, so for the sake of consistency and fairness, the same should apply to opposition players & officials.

Great point Josh, I hope the club do look into it and act. Whether as Y27 says it is 5, 6 or 30 people if public action was taken against just one individual a clear message would be sent out. Do the club have evidence, did any supporter report this to a steward / official ? For my part I was behind the Stourbr*dge Rd goal, heard plenty of commotion but was too far away to hear individual words or pinpoint (see/hear) a culprit.
