Will we know one way or another if the game is on / off by Saturday morning before we travel?

I can't imagine they'd let fans travel that distance knowing there's a good chance the pitch will be too poor to play?

With the forecast being for heavy rain, it looks like rolling out the usual excuses to avoid shopping, chaps! ::)

already planned for that eventuality Villa play Everton on the radio!
Was due to be going up by train and meeting my mate with his kids for the game. But looking at the forecast I didn't bother to get my ticket! When I corresponded with him yesterday he said that they had not had a dry day there so far this week!

I was tweeting the guy who took the photos of their pitch yesterday. He was fairly positive about the pitch in the sense that he thought it was "passable by log flume."
They haven't played at home since December 7th and could do with the cash desperately but it would take more than just forking to make it playable in his opinion. Hopefully the pitch will be called off tomorrow or Saturday morning early on.
The other downside to this means it's likely to be rearranged on a midweek. Or could the league look at extending the season? Sheffield have only played 9 home games so far!

They may do so but only in exceptional ciurcumstances, like last season; but there were more postponements at the equivalent stage and then even more into Feb and March.

Last year the north made an exception as there was one month without play and they extended by one week,

However, as there is a lot of midweek slots still to use I doubt it at this stage.

Although Shef have only played 9 at home they have played as many as most others.

I am assuming it is off that way I wont be too disappointed. If on Limo ready as planned.
