sounds like a bad day in the office. Not to worried. Think its part of the slow process of building a strong team. Just got to pick our heads up and carry on the good work of the last few weeks

It was a strange performance yesterday, we had spells where we were all over them and spells where we hadn't got a clue. We missed several excellent chances (but so did Belper) and had the defence not gone missing for a 15 minute period during the first half we may have come away with a point, but they went missing in style, god knows what they were playing at, there were that many holes at the back it looked like some of them had gone to sample the excellent Belper catering! Had both teams had their shooting boots on it could have ended 9-9.

Plus points saw a very nicely restored Honda CB750F in the town ,We rescued the Silver Fox from the pub, food was bostin (they had to close early after Scouse's 4th visit of the day) nice club house, friendly people (mostly) and a very nice set up with plenty of room for expansion should Belper ever head upwards and onwards.

We bossed the first 10 minutes and the referee who was being assessed had obviously told the assistants there role was only to flag for offside. Blatant fouls went un noticed and punished against us.
Then our midfield and defence went off to the mill and let Belper walk in goals. I would say only one was a goal we could not have easily prevented.
As for our chances too many unfortunately fell for other players than Ben who was providing most of the service up front and not given many opportunities to score.

Positive we won the second half. 1-0.

Down side is why we do not have a full bench? What has happened to the fringe players that we could not field a full bench? No disrespect to Simon Flowers but do we need a goal keeper on the bench at our level, does this restrict our outfield options?

Hot dogs excellent, chips not so good and the ground is the best kept secret in Belper not helped by a great big yellow working lorry blocking the entrance on match day!
