and 3-1. Told ya. Scotland of non league.
In fairness we havent been poor. They've just been a bit better. Stronger and we lack a cutting edge up top.

FT: Redditch 3 - 2 Yeltz.
A late OG for us flatters the scoreline.
Yussuf gets a straight red, for kicking an opponent, after being on for 6 minutes!

I think 3-1 flattered them tbh. 3 very poor goals to concede however. Overall losing by a 1 goal scoreline is probably an apt score, but it doesnt tell the whole story. I think going forward we did ok, but no real teeth to the attack. Our back line is big and strong but from their no real height or strength. Smile again got stuck in.

No issue with Penn yet for me, recruitment maybe proving to be not as good as what was on tin maybe for sure. The problem we have and it has been around for 2-3 seasons is we are quite lightweight across the park in physical presence. Barring wynter and kelly we are getting out muscled and bullied and teams certainly over last session so seem to be much bigger, taller etc guessing I would say 5ft 11/6ft average for some. I would estimate we are c5ft 9 average at best. We have real skilled players but they get swamped and bullied - we need more of a mix. The organisation at back today wasn't brill and wynter and platty had a bit of a verbal exchange of robust views.
Yussuf shouldn't play again for us and is well off expected level for us. I can see some good things that Booth does but won't get us 20 goals. Bit of a head scratcher to sort and major team surgery at this stage of season is panic measures.
Needs some serious coaching work to shore things up.
Up the yeltz

What’s worse than a plastic pitch? Answer … a plastic pitch with a slope
Reddic h main tactic appears to be lump it and hope the bounce catches out defenders and it worked twice.
That said they out battled us and we tried to play football. The only way your going to succeed on those pitches is one touch (easier said than done)
Youseff …. It’s all been said
Down but not out … yet

Re: Redditch FA Cup
Although the loss is difficult to take, given that it was the FA Cup, I felt we were never outplayed by Redditch and there wasn't that much difference between the two clubs. Our defensive line looks solid and I agree about our midfield looking lightweight in size we DO get knocked off the ball sometimes far too easily. There's plenty of work-rate there and plenty of endeavour as displayed in our second goal. I just feel that there's something not clicking at the minute throughout the team. I thank the good Lord we have Donnelly tho' because I'd think we'd be struggling up front for goals made more remarkable by the fact he's supposed to be a defender! Here's to three points next Saturday......

Re: Redditch FA Cup
There are some generous interpretations of yesterday's performance on here. 3-2 flattered us, and even making allowances for the abomination of the pitch, we were very poor. We created very little, conceded two sucker punches, and defended a corner badly.
On the rare occasions we tried to play, we looked like we could have caused problems but then resorted to copying Redditch's hoof ball instead. It doesn't, or shouldn't, take a genius to work out why that won't ever work for us.
It's still early days for Russ Penn and no-one should be panicking, but hopefully, performances like this one and Bedford will prove to be early season aberrations.
And some of our support remains moronic. Homophobic abuse towards a goalkeeper because he's got long hair?
