Too many chances going awry. As usual.

Disappointing, but early days with the same squad.
I'm sure that changes in personnel are inevitable.

Oh boy. Does Mr Penn have his work cut out. If ever there was a game that summed up why we are in a slump, that was it. We can play some fast attacking football, no doubt. However, very much men against boys. Because so could Barwell. The difference, as well as the missed opportunities, was the size and strength of the Barwell team. They harried and harrassed, and looked very much like a team that is used to this division, with goals in them. We, for all our endeavours, looked just that little bit less savvy. Thats either confidence, or as has been said before, the players we have aren't quite ready for the standard. Today, despite all those chances, I didnt think it looked like they are.

However, the effort is there and finally a game where we have tried to keep it on the deck. As Lutley said, same squad so can' t expect overnight miracles, pardon the pun.

Lost to yet another side who are no better than us. Poor decision from the ref for the penalty and poor play from Hickman not picking up the runner for the second. And that was the difference. We had quite a few opportunities but don't have the players to put them away. I'm sure Russ will have a good look at every available player we have over the next few games and then see who to build a side with next season and who to let go.

I would persevere with what we have until the end of the season. By that time Russ will know what he can get out of each individual. We know many of them are capable of more. It would be good if he could settle on a 'best' eleven by then. After the end of the season he can then improve the team where his sees fit.

The danger is though Andy, we will risk losing our better players if progress is not seen to be made so that includes bringing better players in before the end of the season. Back to Barwell and their 3G pitch is on a par with bedwurth and kalsa - shocking but it did quiten down after a shower.
