Not disagreeing with you…. But I can’t see ten clubs in that league getting over 1000 fans for every home game , plus the added extras of a large crowd spending on food, drink, 50-50 tickets etc…. And as stated before Halesowen should get nearer double that for the majority of home games, especially if they are at the top end of the table….. and as a result of that. Should be able to attract the best players available….. promotion should be a realistic target…

I'm with Scribbler on this. I know some clubs could have wealthier benefactors which may mean they can afford bigger wages, but I can't see many getting even half the number of spectators based on last season's averages and that makes a big differential at this level.

I would say though that no club or fans necessarily deserve success, as that is something to be earned.

Those averages suggest that, if we're both even halfway in the mix, the Boxing Day fixture against Telford should be a corker.

The FA cup match at their place in, I think 1993, was a bloodbath I seem to remember.

Looking forward to some big games…home and away … and a packed house for home games… should be a great season with lots of local interest and fingers crossed we will be competitive and be there or thereabouts come the end of the season

Very interesting to read the views on attendances. We have certainly pulled in massive crowds recently to watch a side performing successfully. I've seen these sort of attendances before however. Should we be lower midtableish in January we'll see if the 'expected' attendances are to be realised. I think the hardcore is probably 500 or so, which is good, we'll see about the rest. Of course we may be top of the table....

I think if we're mid table we'll pull in 800 odd tbh. I still think getting settled is the best objective and build on it.
Telford and Kettering are the likely winners I think.

Leiston finished 3rd despite having the 2nd lowest average attendance and Rushall only had an average of 335

I don't know about Leiston's finances, and whether or not they have a sugar-daddy, for good or bad, but Rushall have, "proper" non-league owners in the Allen family, who've been there forever, and have no doubt sunk in loads, but seem to run a good ship. Ditto Alvechurch and their set-up.

Coalville or leamington for me although getting a good start is crucial for any team especially the likes of telford and Kettering who have signed a lot of new players. Leiston have put some players on 2 year deals also. I think we will be around 12th to 14th with current squad. Going to be interesting for sure let the fun begin

I always tend to think that attendances are only half the story. You look at teams like Barwell who are always in the thick of things at Step 3, who don't have a huge following, but do seem to have a relatively high number of elderly gentlemen in white shirts and club ties in their midst on matchdays, which I guess is where the books are balanced from.

On Leiston, I gather they've lost a few players over the summer and, combined with the long journey, might suggest we've got half a chance on Saturday.

On the Allens at Rushall, I think the younger one makes quite a bit of revenue by impersonating the snooker player, Shaun Murphy.
