It's been our failing for the last couple of years. And now I've been sucked in again.....

Don't you start Westy. Just because you've started to rate matches on the quality of their burgers....

Mr Westy , I do not think that a brummie should be speaking to you like that and may I suggest that you strip him of some Georges as punishment for his disrespect.

As a V***a fan you should know that trophies won many millennia ago cannot be taken away. My awards are obviously more recent but so are dinosaurs. Westy may feel it pertinent to award me another one for this observation. Who knows?

We can be better we can go from 1st in the whole country to 1st in the whole country. I really hope we don't draw or heaven forbid lose the next game. We are starting to sound like real Madrid fansandy wrote: ↑23 Oct 2022, 13:19...and it's precisely why I'm not going there. I'm just glad we are currently top of the league. You don't win a league scoring the most goals, you do know that?

Re: Hinckley Updates
Leaving aside the argument about whether being top of the league is good enough, the players are great with the kids. Matters little in the overall scheme of things, but my lad was delighted with the number of players who took the time to sign his 'Richard Gregory' hat, and that they replied when he thanked them on Twitter later.uncle jack and coke wrote: ↑22 Oct 2022, 22:26A word of praise for Jamie Insall for after the match. As usual a number of young supporters were waiting by the players tunnel to tap hands with the players as they left the field. Jamie was clearly struggling as he climbed the steps of the pitch. Seeing all the kids he said he shouldn't be doing this today, however he then proceed to tap the hand of every child on both sides of the tunnel even though it was obviously painful for him.
If he had just walked straight through many of the kids wouldn't have understood why and would have gone home disappointed
thinking he had ignored them, as it was they went home happy.
Well done Jamie and hopefully the injury is not as bad as it appeared.

That's right, you will league by having the most points. At the moment we also have that too at level 4.HalesowenHarry wrote: ↑23 Oct 2022, 21:30You don't win a league scoring the most goals, you do know that?
I don't get why some of you are trying to pick holes in my Yeltz positivity? It's also fact that I am stating.
Stop fearing the worst and enjoy reality, its rather liberating you know

No one is picking holes. Well we are but ignore that bit. We haven't done well against the top 5 the last 3 seasons, and when I'm sober tomorrow stats will show why the miserable 20/30 year plus supporters are indeed so miserable. I think we'll win this by Christmas by the way

Re: Hinckley Updates
this may (or may not) be the point Andy et al are trying to make about beating the higher team in the last 3 seasons (difficult with the middle one as not many games!):-
2019-2020 (at the point it was finished March 11th 2020):-
1st Berkhamsted (h) DNP / (a) lost 0-1
3rd Corby Town (h) lost 1-2 / (a) drew 1-1
4th Welwyn Garden City (h) lost 0-2 / (a) DNP
5th Aylesbury United (h) won 4-1 / (a) DNP
2020-2021 (only played a total of 7 games so pretty inconclusive but I'll include the one match for completeness, we were 7th when it finished):-
Corby Town (a) lost 3-4
2021-2022:-
1st Ilkeston Town (h) lost 0-1 / (a) drew 2-2
2nd Stamford (h) won 3-2 / (a) drew 2-2
4th Chasetown (h) lost 0-2 / (a) won 4-1 and I'll add the play off loss of 0-1
5th Belper Town (h) won 2-1 / (a) drew 2-2
So the full record is:-
P15 W4 D4 L7 GF24 GA25
Proves nothing of course, had we beat Ilkeston at home and not lost last season, we'd have won the league, but if my aunt had have had balls she'd have been my uncle...........
Lies, lies and damn statistics
