Embarrassing performance yesterday. Probably the worst I’ve seen under a Paul Smith side in a competitive game. We looked lost, out of sorts and players looked disinterested.

Fair play to Romulus, they wanted it more than us and arguably they could have even had more, it was that bad.

I don’t buy the line ‘concentrate on the league’ as I believe you should put 100% effort into every game. Yes we made changes but the side we put out was still strong enough to win, but we just never showed up.

I made the decision to sleep on my thoughts last night before commenting today. The key issue for me was attitude. At any level of football you know that the first 10/minutes of the game are when you earn the right to play. You win your individual battle against your direct opponent. Not enough players did. The penalty decision really was very soft but that should have been the wake up call but it wasn't. I was hoping we'd see a reaction after that penalty, but Roms scored a second not long after and then a third. They won almost every 50/50, they worked harder collectively and individually and managed the game better. We looked as though we thought we only had to turn up to win.
The decision was obviously made to change to a back three, perhaps to combat their aerial threat and their long throw but we just didn't deal with it, at 2-0 we then moved Nat Kelly to LB and move Quaynor into midfield to try and revert to our more familiar formation and then they scored a third.
The last ten minutes really was just desperate in that we were trying to hoof it and feed off the scraps, but credit to Romulus who defended doggedly and in numbers. Once again we've seen a supposedly lesser team raise their game to play us and we've fell short.

So clearly an important game to the fan base. Totally worth losing the plot over because we lost.

No its not worth losing the plot over, however an awful performance shouldnt be tolerated either, and people are right to be unhappy, within reason.

Sometimes I wish we were crap again. It was easier and there was no expectation. Then the flybynight fans would bugger off 😁

Had time to think about this now. A better solution would be for Albion and Blues to become good again. The net result would be the same without compromising the Yeltz record.
