It seems that Matt Sergeant came off the bench to play up front for them, not as a gag when they were 4-0 up, but after 26 minutes when it was still 0-0!

It's so frustrating. Good luck to Belper, but they really were the weakest of the top teams I have seen and relied on the long ball, although who wouldn't on their awful pitch?

Chasetown more or less thought they were up after snatching the win on Tuesday. Beware of over-celebrating too early I guess.

The play offs are a real lottery at this level with only one leg which also seems barmy.

It sums the joke of the play offs when 2nd and 3rd lose their home play off tie, then 5th place beats 4th place to 'earn' promotion.

2nd should go up automatically. End of (or 3rd in a three promotion league). But it is what it is. We wouldn't have gone up either way, so it's not sour grapes from me. It's just a farce at times.

Nothing against Belper, as DrummyB said it's a lovely club, and a pleasure to visit. All the best to them. Ultimately they took their chance and seized an opportunity.
100% this.

I have never, ever seen the justification in turning a marathon season into a winner takes all sprint race. So often the team that sneaks in late on takes the spoils. And to cap the farce, in the football league you can 'win' a trophy for finishing SEVENTH! And at Wembley!
It's just a game now played by the talented, watched by the passionate and run by fucking idiots that don't care about the previous two.

Yeah im with that Andy. There will however be an entire generation who dont know anything other than play offs. I wonder how 3 up 3 down would be received?

Yeah I guess you're right. I don't mind change for the benefit of all. Change for changes sake riles me. Especially when years down the line another brain surgeon thinks they are doing something new by reverting it back to how it was.😂

You can tell the football season is over. We haven't got this all post-season, have we?
