Lovely stuff, well done everyone. Wembley era was slightly before my time, unfortunately, so nice for me to add faces to well-known names.

Ah, I know. The Vase era definitely built the foundations of the club today and it was lovely to see them get such a warm reception from the crowd on Saturday.

I did see a bit of Malcolm and Paul Joinson in my first few seasons - they were OK I guess. ;)

Obviously not on the squad photo, as from a later era, but good to see Phil Wood in attendance on Saturday.

Yes and yes.
Everybody had a ‘tache back then. And some clung on for decades afterwards.

pay attention Doc, the bloke is Johnny Bucknall.
Sorry Ken, missed that one.
Excuse my ignorance, but what was his association with the club? I don’t remember him as a player, was he a director?

And there’s five players there - Paul, Lee, Penner, Les Randle and Malcolm - who had 10+ years service and a testimonial, plus Geoff of course.
That’s something that we’ll never see again.

Whilst revelling in the nostalgia, it’s an honour to point out the twins and Malcolm to my son at games.
“You see those two little chubby blokes and that bald bloke?”
“Yeah”
“30+ years service, 1200+ appearances and 600+ goals”
