2-0 Carlton now.

We now rely on Ilkeston dropping 4 points from their remaining fixtures; Daventry (H), Bedworth (A), Shepshed (H) and Wisbech (A). I can't see it, but you never know.

That's assuming we pick up 12 points. Bedworth away I would normally see as a tricky one but they are used to the plastic and Bedworth's form has fallen right off. Just essential we keep winning to try and avoid Stamford in the semis IMO.

Anyhow. Nice comfortable win today and some good individual performances. The loss of Simmo in 'those 3 games' was once again highlighted with another good performance today. His form is imperative if we are get through the play offs. Does anybody know whether Kelly was left out of the squad today because we were playing a back 3 or has he picked up a knock?

With Daventry and Sutton still to play, I don’t think it’s impossible we can make up the goal difference on Ilkeston. They were 15 better off two games ago, and now it’s only nine.

I am also frequently wrong.

Totally agree
I would assume he was rested due to injury. No Lewis Wright either?
Surprised we shut up shop slightly in the last 10 mins rather than going for more goals which may be crucial at the end of the season.

3 points was all that mattered though today and another confidence building result.
Roll on Bedworth next week

Yes I agree. Stamford are on a roll and I would prefer to avoid them. I can't see Ilkeston dripping any points now.

If we can keep this winning run going, coupled with the winning mentality of the squad, barring injuries and suspensions we should fear no-one!

100% this.

Stamford, Belper and Chasetown will all be tricky matches. They're in the play-offs for a reason. If we go up, we'll have to beat 2 of the three, anyway, so talk of who to avoid is a little pointless. However, I would prefer to finish second to guarantee two home ties.

All three will fear us, and won't want to come down the Grove.
