Yes..and even more surprising and unnecessary when we are winning so easily.

Very good performance. Taylor a clear upgrade on Smith (though rather less svelte that I remember him from his Bromsgrove days). Nine more to go, but with other results no real changes. Didn’t see the Cobourne incident (consensus around me was that he left something in on the Loughborough player) but given the recent improvement with Holmes (yeah but can he do it on a cold Tuesday night at Soham?), don’t think it’s the most painful loss we might have endured.

Onwards!

Great first hour, 4 wonderful goals, can't wait to watch them back, then tailed off especially after the sending off. I too missed the incident but there didn't seem to be much complaining from our players about the decision. If it's 3 games out then I have to disagree with fairweatherfan, I feel it could be a massive loss. 2 very tricky away games and Chasetown at home. I think Simmo has looked very lively of late and will be a big miss. Aside from that we're all back where we were at 3oclock.

I agree with Andy, Sim and Gregs have paired up very well and we have a real attacking threat with them. I think he's a big loss. Hopefully the squad will kick in, and we do have goals elsewhere but even so, an effective front pair makes and has made a big difference.

No doubt it’s a blow, but meant more it’s not of the magnitude of losing Hawker, McCone, Evans, Manning, or Kelly. Obviously less than ideal, but with Holmes (seemingly having been taken under Gregory’s wing) starting to play well again, I don’t think (maybe more hope than anything) it’s the end of the world.

Very pleasing performance as I thought it might be a bananaskinny today. Second goal from Gregs was sublime.

Definitely down to three for the title now and a massive few games. Really need Chasetown to do us a favour vs Ilkeston.

Disappointing to lose Sim as he’ll be out for three big games. I didn’t see the incident but those who did had no complaints. At 4-0 up, it was a moment of madness.

I make that at least five reds this season now (might be more if I sat down and worked it out)
