Just not happening. No good having one eye on Monday if we can't beat these at home

Ali on for Birch. And their eye catching forward has just scored

On the plus side, Ilson and one other won't be in this league next year........

That was more like an end of season match for two teams that were winding down. Possibly the worst performance Ive seen in a long time. Spalding were bang average and we more than matched them. Im completely baffled.
I think the gaffer rested some because of the quick turn around but in all honesty, its blindingly obvious who our best team are, and the fringe players, are exactly that.

I mentioned it earlier, and I really dont want to single him out, but what has happened to Jack?? All that creativity and excitement he posesses has gone.

I have several thoughts, but one of those is that a particular player variously described as a ‘handful’ and ‘raw’ would be better off being those things elsewhere.

Hard to disagree too much based on that performance.

In fairness, he was a back up for White, who in turn is the back up to Gregs and Sim. He's not ready for 90 minutes at this level.

Just to post that we lost by a single goal scored by one of those in the No 9 shirt!

Yeah. And crazy thing is, he did nothing all game , acted as peacemaker on several occasions, took loads of stick and scored an absolute belter. Gotta respect the bloke.

The absence of both Sim and Gregs in the team raised an eyebrow today but I did really think it was a smart move (at the time). Bring them on if we need a goal, otherwise let them have the rest and keep them fresh for Monday. That was the theory, anyway.

However, it was a bridge too far. We had too many key players out and it really was a square peg, round hole lineup at the end. You have to wonder about match fitness of the players on the pitch too.

I’d have maybe kept Holmes on for longer. He had a stinker but (with Lait too) they only need one moment of magic to make the difference. I know the party line is that there’s still plenty of time to go but I think that’s the title out of our grasp now.
