I really do like our gaffers interviews. Very measured, respectful of opposition and yet never leaves you feeling the wool has been pulled over your eyes. I believe he must be the same with the players, probably no punches pulled, yet would earn respect. I do feel he looked happier when Ben did them though.

Good result for Ilkeston at Coleshill tonight, winning 3-2.

However, the notable fact to me was the attendance.

Two “big” clubs, both expected to be in the shake-up at the end of the season…..

165.

Pathetic. We really do have to get out of this league.

However in the league above ‘pace setters’ Peterborough Sports had a massive 187 in attendance for their game on August 17th and only 217 for the previous Saturday.

I think it needs to be noted that Peterborough Sporting has the massive crowd of 275 for their Bank Holiday weekend meeting with Stourbr*dge. It also needs repeating that the result was 8-4 in case it had slipped anyone's mind.

Peterborough Sports are what Simon Jordan refers to as "a Fabergé Egg" of a club - recently created from fresh air as a wealthy benefactor's plaything and, whilst I wish then no ill, there are many more examples of that model imploding than it proving sustainable.
So it's not surprising that they don't expect have any fans. You'd have thought that Ilkeston, and to a lesser extent, Coleshill could have mustered a few more?

If you excuse the pun, "Fabergé Egg" is probably a bit rich at our level. A "Pandora charm" of a club? A "Ratner's Diamond Earring"? "Elizabeth Duke Belly Button Bar"?

I don't dispute anything that you say Doc, but the question has to be asked: why do you have an extensive knowledge of Elizabeth Duke Belly Button Bars?
Please, please DO NOT share any pictures of you modelling one of said items.

Their Price Albert range is eye-wateringly good.

Is this a cost sensitive derivative of the ‘royal’ accoutrement more suitable for the proletariat Doc ????

Not related to our match thread but yesterday I noticed that Ilkeston got a crowd of 1,767 for their match v Chasetown.

They let everyone in for free and are doing it again on December.

I guess with well over 1,000 more attending than usual, the club would have done well out of takings for food and drink, and even club merchandise.
