Really looking forward to seeing Andy Crannage back at The Grove in goal for The Lye.

I assume he's still playing for them? ;)

Cheers Chas.
I'd forgotten that he played for us.
Is he still involved with NL football now?

I aint usually fussed about friendlies, but Im enjoying this. Number 11 and 6, who I presume are triallists look useful. Number 11 got the first goal. If he can bring aerial balls down a bit better, he'll do well.
Lye aint a bad outfit either but we just have that bit more

Superb crowd too.

Very much a rotated team today with various new players on show. By my reckoning, most of last season’s squad are back on the scene (minus Bowen, Westwood and Carter) but I’d say there were at least 7-8 new faces on show today as well. Some are seemingly on trial, whereas I think there may be some youth teamers getting involved as well.

The gaffer must have at least 25 players involved at the moment, so I guess there will be some trimming down at some point, possibly even losing some of the old guard. We will have to see. It’s hard to judge too much at this moment in time - it’s a long time until the season restarts so games like today very important for fitness, game time, and decision making on next season’s squad.

Yeah I figured youth teamers too. The new faces did ok I thought. Was that Chilcott playing for Lye?
