Josh..they sell pop on match days too ;D
Fizzy pop sends me a bit loopy!

You're bang on - we haven't become a bad team overnight. I don't think anyone seriously believes we're a bad team. It's the opposite, we've been blessed with the best group of players we've had in years, it's certainly the best team I've seen in my time following us. They have been a pleasure to follow, which makes disappointing performances, like the second half yesterday, that more frustrating.

Win the next two games, and it'll all be forgotten, and we'll be the best team in non-league, again!

I'll hold my hands up, and admit I'm one of those who expected to walk the league. I definitely need to lower my expectations. It looks like this will be a scrap.

Mate after last year, it felt like we should beat everyone we play. Reality is a bit different.

Now, where did I put my pipe, slippers and Gardeners Weekly?

Reminds me of that game several years ago where we were 3-0 up at half time then ended up losing 5-3. Can’t remember who we played now, maybe one of the more ‘senior’ members on here can remind me?!
That would have been Clevedon. I believe that may have been my first Yeltz game. Certainly one of my first games!

That’s the one. Knew I hadn’t made it up. I didn’t go to it but certainly remember the game. I do remember the Wimborne game as Andy referred to as well, again didn’t go but again one of those freak results that stands out and sad to say dare say we won’t forget yesterday’s result either.

I thought we would blow this league apart. May still do. I'm just getting a little concerned we can't beat the teams around us. The six pointers. They are the ones that can open up the gaps. I just hope we don't get too hung up on the cups this time around.

People call me a moaning old git (can’t think why) but as we breezed through close season unbeaten I became gradually concerned that the euphoria from fans might spread to the players and that we were in danger of developing ‘Bertie big bollocks’ syndrome, so I’m a bit relieved that this is now Hopefully well and truly out of our system after yesterday. As North Leigh proved on Tuesday if teams stack 11 men behind the ball, it matters not how good you are, you have to be good enough to wear them down ..

Agree, OG - pre-season friendlies were in the main great performances (from what we were allowed to see that weren’t behind closed doors) and apart from the Concord semi where we were dealt a bad hand from FA but unfortunate to lose that one we’ve not done too badly.

Yes some disappointing performances in the cup despite wins (Newcastle and West Bridgford) and some dismal draws in the league (Barton and Kidlington) but on paper wise results wise it’s not too that bad.

Like to reiterate I think it’s the manner of the defeat yesterday and to the opposition it was that hurts more than most.
