Great game, great result.

Thought we had the most of the play, and they perhaps had the best chances. McCone heroic as ever, Ali had a good game in midfield, and Catlow seemed to get his mojo back with some big saves- including the penalty of course.

Excellent support too. It’s a shame we aren’t playing at places like Hednesford in the league this season and instead traipsing to Kidlington. Sooner we get out of this league the better.

Absolutely. Shame we've attracted a few schoolkid dickheads again though. The flare ending up on the pitch and mouthing at the stewards will do us no favours at all.
On to proper things now. I think if we all played till Christmas it would remain goalless, both keepers did well and so many shots went high and wide, the net was never going to be troubled. We seemed a better shape today even if lacking that spark of last season, I think we're moving in the right direction. Pleased for Catlow today, he came in and did everything right, ultimately saving a penalty in the shoot out. Back to the bread and butter of the league now, bring it on!

While I broadly agree with most of this, I’ve just rewatched Cobourne’s miss.

Wow. I would have missed it, but even I’d have been disappointed with that. It’s bad.

Great win. Shame about the flare. I was joking with some mates about ultras and that Football Factory had been on. Shame some of the yoot seem to think it was a documentary.

Qualifying rounds all straight to pens, from 1st Round proper it's extra time and then pens - no replays at all this season
I suspect that replays will never return. The big clubs have been trying to get rid of them for years and this gives them the excuse. Lack of replays will be found to be “a great success and kept by popular demand” even if the opposite is true.
I fear you are spot on with that Kev. The game is getting less exciting and more sterile by the week at the top level and this would take away a good few 'pay days' for us minnows. At least it would give the Premier League boys more time to practice jumping like fish with their arms taped to their sides.

McCone is an outstanding footballer. Easily man of the match today.

I think he’s been Man Of The Match every game this season pretty much. And to think I had my concerns when we signed him. The guy is a colossus in defence, genuinely one of the best centre backs we’ve ever had.

And a good penalty taker too, we now know!

Agree with that. Captain Marvel!
£3375 in the bank for today's win.
Now if the FA could stop taking our name out the hat each time the home team is drawn I'll take anybody.

Week on Tuesday is next round (13th)
Even more reason to hope for a home tie
