Decent attendance today. Nice to see. The lads deserve it. Certainly when compared to Welwyn, one place below us, in a relative local derby against Dunstable, attendance 66. Don't know how they survive.

We were the better team throughout but had to dig it out after they went ahead. The subs definitely made a difference as well and Holmes's goal was very well taken.

Bowen is a good player but his behaviour sometimes is not very 'classy'. Taunting their keeper after the second goal and their number 7 after the third was unnecessary and didn't look very good, irrespective of what might have gone on during the game.
Couldn't care to be honest. After all their timewasting, bleating and getting away with everything due to an awful ref, he was just giving them some back. May not be classy but sometimes football can just wind you up that way.

I think we are going to get more games like today as the season goes on. Teams will look to do a job on us and get a point and it very nearly worked today and Tuesday. Our finishing has to get back to the level it was to finish of these teams before they can get a foothold and stifle us. We will also have to go to some poor pitches and grind out results also. That said, we are overcoming every hurdle still and winning where others may drop points. When it's not going well Paul does not waste any time ringing the changes. The triple substitution soon after conceding won us the match. Great management. All in all another hard won, massive 3 points. Well done lads!

I'm all for Bowen's behaviour, if I'm honest.

Nah, that was outstanding. Nothing more enjoyable than a keeper that’s been desperately time wasting conceding a goal late on. Watching Bowen rub it in his face made it twice as good.

Maybe I’m not very classy either ;D ;D ;D

Yes, he's absolutely not unique in doing this, but it still looks really childish, a bit like one or two fans giving their player abuse when he was clearly hurt in the ribs and had to go off. Again our fans are not alone in this. It's just that these things don't look great.

Anyway, it was meant as constructive criticism in what was a well-merited and hard-fought win.

The issue came from the first goal. While the players were celebrating Bowes went to get the ball out the net to take back for kick of. The keeper got to the ball first then stopped Bowes from getting it. he then kicked it over by the opposite corner flag to where all the players were making Bowes run to get it.
For this he got what he deserved on the scoring of the second goal.

The two home games this week have been the most satisfying wins. We weren't at it in either, but showed patience & battled so hard to get the points. In many ways these types of wins are more impressive & important than the big 5-0 wins! This team is special.
