Agree with you Andy. When you consider that Solihull have brought their first team squad that narrowly missed out on promotion to the Football League we are not looking out of place. Yes you can see the occasional difference in class, but come the league season I think we will be up there challenging

Still doing alright. A few changes but no less endeavour. Created a couple of chances and pretty much matched them all over the park.

Halesowen Town 1 Solihull Moors 3

Halesowen began a new era with an impressive display in their first pre-season friendly against Solihull Moors of the National League.

The Moors took a 7th minute lead when Paul McCallum rose to convert a free header from Jordan Murphy’s cross. Terry Hawkridge’s 15th minute shot then landed on top of the Yeltz net.

For Halesowen, Robbie Bunn’s long range 25th minute shot was held by Ryan Boot and Kartel Martin-O’Neill went close in the 35th minute. After the break Montel Gibson fired a wide-angled shot from the right at the visiting goalkeeper.

Despite the gap in league rankings, there was little difference between the two teams for long spells and Isai Marselia found a deserved Yeltz equaliser by following up to slot home an 81st minute rebound from Gibson’s drive. But Solihull won the game with two late goals as Ryan Nesbitt volleyed home Jamie Reckord’s 84th minute cross from the left and Matt Stenson then steered home after good work from Callum Coyle in the final minute.

Halesowen Town: Brendon Bunn; Rob Evans, James Bowan, Josh Hawker, Paul McCone (c), Andy Parsons, Luke Yates, Robbie Bunn, Jamie Lucas, Kartel Martin-O’Neill, Jamie Molyneux. Subs: Matt Nicholds, Jamie Ashmore, Jayden Ward, Dan Danks, Isai Marselia, Montel Gibson.

Solihull Moors: First Half: Ryan Boot, George Carline, Liam Daly, Tye Williams, Mitch Hancocks, Kyle Storer (c), Luke Maxwell, Jordan Murphy, Paul McCallum, Terry Hawkridge, Nathan Blissett.. Second Half: Allinson (Trialist), Jamie Reckord, Alex Gudger, Harry Flowers, Lee Vaughan, Darren Carter, Callum Coyle, Danny Wright, Matthew Stenson, Dan Sweeney, Ryan Nesbitt.

Attendance: 429
