I don't see the need to damage the fence. If you want to get on the pitch at least jump over it. It's not that high! I just can't believe a club would act so appallingly. Like Andy said, I hope they get some serious punishment. But this is the useless FA. I won't count on it.

Halesowen Town 3 Prescot Cables 2

Halesowen staged a dramatic fight-back by scoring twice in injury-time to avoid a cup upset against Prescot. A Remembrance Day silence was observed prior to kick-off, followed by a bugler sounding the “Last Post”.

The Yeltz had already suffered an early blow when goalkeeper Cameron Gregory pulled up with a back injury in the pre-match warm-up, meaning young stopper Dominic Hill made his home debut. And the hosts made a poor start as Prescot snatched a 2nd minute lead when Michael Monaghan played the ball in for Josh KLEIN-DAVIES to hit a low shot into the corner of Hill’s net. James Cooper then glanced a 10th minute header wide before Hill boosted his confidence by pushing away a 14th minute curling free-kick.

Cables continued to dominate and create all the chances and could easily have doubled their lead in the 28th minute when James Edgar cut the ball back to Klein-Davies in front of goal, only for Jack Kelly to make a vital block. As the pressure continued, Chris Almond curled wide from a 30th minute corner and Almond then glanced wide with a diving header. A fierce 35th minute shot from Klein-Davies was also beaten away by Hill after the Yeltz defence was caught out.

But Prescot paid the price for failing to secure a second goal when the Yeltz equalised with their first meaningful chance in the 37th minute with unmarked Crewe loanee Lewis REILLY tapping home from close range on his debut after Bradley Lewis headed on Kelly’s left-wing corner.

Jack Lenehan fired wide for Prescot at the start of the second half and the same player went close by putting the ball past the post after meeting a 54th minute cross from Valter Fernandes. Tobias Hayles-Docherty made a good 59th minute run and flashed wide for the home side.

Cables deservedly regained the lead in the 67th minute when KLEIN-DAVIES controlled and planted home at the end of a superb passing move forward into the danger area. The tie seemed all over when Prescot were awarded a 76th minute penalty after Asa Charlton brought down Monaghan, but young goalkeeper Hill was the Halesowen’s hero when he dived low down to his right to keep out Almond’s spot-kick.

But the real drama took place with 90 minutes already gone on the referee’s watch. The Yeltz drew level in the second minute of injury time after Prescot goalkeeper Ben Barnes dived but somehow let a simple ball slip from his grasp and then hauled down substitute Roland Agbor as he nipped in. REILLY gratefully slammed home the resulting penalty for his second goal of the game.

Prescot survived three home corners but as a ball into the area from Hayles-Docherty broke free in the 5th minute of added time, it was KELLY who produced a 25 yard screamer into the top corner to send jubilant Halesowen forwards into the next round.

Can anyone from the club tell us what, if any, action is being taken regarding the violence and damage caused by the Prescott fans after the game? Also are the League/FA investigating?
