Coalville preview - their forum

Posted: Mon Mar 03, 2014 11:40 am Post subject: Halesowen preivew [First Team]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Coalville Town have their biggest league game of the season to date on Tuesday when we welcome 2nd place Halesowen Town to Owen St with a 7.45 kick off. Following the disappointment of Saturdays postponement The Ravens will be looking to continue their current run of good form that has seen them win the last six games. Manager Adam Stevens should have a full squad to choose from.

Halesowen moved level on points with Coalville on Saturday following their 1-0 victory over 3rd place Leek Town and are in the middle of a tough run of games as they then face 4th place Beleper on Saturday. They entered the Evo Stik Northern Premier League in the 2012/13 season and finished just outside the play offs. Coalville won at Halesowen 3-0 back in our meeting earlier this season and The Yeltz current record this season stands at Played 30 Won 20 Drawn 4 Lost 6 and have 64 points.

I reckon playing on Saturday against good opposition will be perfect preparation for this.

I'd rather be a Yeltz fan going into this game 'match sharp', with momentum and full of confidence. Whereas Coalville have lost a bit of momentum by not playing.

I still maintain that the Chasetown postponement on New Years Day was the worst result of the season for us. We were flying at that stage and we had an air of 'invincibility' about the team. Whether that was just me, I don't know.

But in essence when you're on a good run you want the games to come thick and fast.

Really looking forward to this game, just cannot wait to get there. My head maintains a point will suffice and be a great result. It keeps us a good weekend away from going top.

My heart tells me nothing but a win will do.

Either way I travel in the knowledge I will see every Halesowen player give 100%, and that is why I've loved this season.

I definitely feel the game plan will be to sit deep, frustrate and contain Coalville. Ensure we keep that sheet clean and come away with a point at least. With our chances coming off set pieces and looking for something special off Ben.

This tactic / style has its critiques and admittedly it's not pretty, but I'd give my left bollock for a repeat of the Sutton and Romulus games, which for me were two scrappy and 'negative' games but two fine wins. I think a similar set up tonight will be the order.

Line up wise, as you were for Saturday, maybe a case to bring in Macca for that added experience, in place of Turner?
