FT Leiston 2 - 1 Yeltz.
The end to a perfect day out in Suffolk!
They'll get home at around 3 am. Oh, joy!

We did play well 1st half. They scored a freak of a 1st goal and 2nd on the break as we pushed forward, we got a late consolation and unfortunately that was that!

Fair play to the fans that made the journey
My pre season prediction of finishing 12th to 14th and 20pts off the play offs is looking like it may happen.

Re: Leiston away.
The run of league form now reads: played 21, won just 6, drawn 4 and lost 11. The rot continues. 1.04 PPG. It's not good reading, is it
That being said, what a tough horrible fixture that is. Both for fans and players, who also had to deal with a crash on the A14, extending travel time. I'm not reading too much into the result as I'd pretty much written it off before a ball was kicked. Onto the next one, as they say.
There are games where I expect us to win (Expect is probably the wrong word, I don't believe any team has a right to win games, but some games you look at and think 'we should be winning against these'), similarly there are games I'm realistic about. This was such a game.

Re: Leiston away.
I agree on the form and I think notably, of those 6 wins, all but one were against teams in the bottom 7. So this would indicate that whilst we are not in danger of going down the form is very much lower half.
However, whilst Leiston were good last season, they aren't at the same level this season and just because it is a long way to travel should not be a reason for it to be a game to be realistic about not winning, especially as they have lost as many at home as they have won.
The issue with the journey yesterday may not have helped, but then in general the Suffolk teams have far more travelling to do than we do over a season and it's not having a detrimental effect on Needham Market.

Re: Leiston away.
According to social media we had 62 fans at the game. Well done to one and all.. According to fan banter the crowd was 153. That's 91 home fans only. Blimey.

Upon checking up I see thats par for the course for them. Been as low as 105. Good job they're doing ok in the league or god knows what they'd get. How lucky we are.

Re: Leiston away.
As I said on the other thread no one can truly know the budgets of other sides, but surely our budget is more than competitive for this level, especially when you look at attendances. Leiston are bottom of the attendance average table and we're top, yet they're above us in the league. That tells me that they have an investor(s) putting in ridiculous money, or have a manager that is getting more out of a lower quality squad than ours is. (Or they're not putting all their money in the women's team like our neighbours are )
I'm just fed up of being told how tough this league is and how we're supposed to be pleased that plucky Halesowen are doing more than treading water. That simply isn't the case, is it?
Talking of budgets and money, at what stage will we see players leaving and our own budget being slashed with no real chance of play-offs or being relegated? You often see this happening with sides that are mid-table and have nothing to play for towards the end of the season.
