Pre even KenR
So the worlds oldest football team are returning to The Grove next week. Yet all trails seem to have gone cold on whether they are visiting the worlds oldest football ground. Anybody got any fresh info?

Re: Pre even KenR
I was unaware of this claim to fame. Does the use of the Grove pre-date the club's formation?
I've always understood that Maidenhead are generally recognised as having the longest continuous use of a ground (York Road since 1871) and Hallam FC played at their current ground in 1867. Have I missed something?

Re: Pre even KenR
To be honest i was unaware of Hallams' claim of a pre 1870 ground. Having now found the details i cannot understand why Northwich Victorias' 1875 Drill Field was always the accepted holder of the title. This was the year we hoped The Grove preceded and i know people were trying to find evidence of this.
