Sorry to repeat but I don't think that Shaun is the man for the job. Many others at the Grove are of the same opinion.

Sorry to disappoint you John, but Shaun is staying and rightly so.

At the risk of repeating myself, what this football club needs is stability and everyone pulling in the same direction, anyone who thinks 'the club has been saved' and the recovery from the past few years is complete, is quite frankly deluded, there is a hell of a long way to go and there is a lot more to a football club than what happens on the pitch. When we finally get the local community convinced the club is stable and the local business community comes back on board then and ONLY then can the club look to moving back up a level.

When Steve took over we were told this season would be on of consolidation, that's exactly what it has been.

Just to enter the debate, I want to reflect as if it were an outsiders view.

April 2011 - Bankrupt - about to go out of existence and be re-formed in the Pork Butchers league at Level 12 - ground falling apart.
At the last minute a shining knight rides in and promises to keep the club alive and run it within it's means.

Fast forward to April 2012. Club still in existence - ground spruced up - mid table leageu position - 4th best average crowd.

nuff said !!!

Cue butchers jokes like 'did he ever get the chop?' and was he like the Yeltz, 'scratching(s) around for points?'
I am sure there will be other contributions we want to faggot (forget).
By the way, has anyone sorted the 'Cant get any tins of bovril' problem yet?

12 months ago the club's existence was at steak, our new owner took over and we're gradually getting bac on the right track. One day the fans will return to The Grove and we'll fillet again.

Back to the serious point of this thread.

The facts are the facts.

What is next seasons expectation?

Whilst I fully agree with the first two points, the section that I cannot agree with is:
there is a lot more to a football club than what happens on the pitch.

At the risk of also repeating myself, what happens on the pitch is essential in getting credibility and, ultimately, the return of both fans and sponsors.
Sponsors like to be associated with a successful, results wise, team as do football fans in general so, I reiterate that a winning side for next season is paramount.

We have consolidated this season and now we must concentrate on playing matters, to prove that we are worthy of financial support from the local business community. Nobody is going to wait and see if HTFC is worth following in two/three years time - they'll have forgotten who we are by then!
