Saturday night saw the welcome return of the Halesowen Town FC presentation evening at the Yeltzbar, where it was pleasing to see a packed house.
The evening began with an interesting introduction from David Johnson who later handed over to Richard Nevin from Bridge FM for the ceremony to begin. We were given the thoughts of Manager Shaun Cunnington, Chairman Colin Brookes and Owner Steve Lynch who between them gave us a stark reminder of exactly where the football club was 12 months ago and the plans for steady, sustainable progress.
Goalkeeper Paul Evans quickly wore a path from his seat to the awards table where he collected the bulk of the nights plaudits.
Awards and thanks were given to volunteers and people who have aided Owner Steve Lynch.
One of the most pleasing moments was when Youth team manager Andre Whyte and assistant Mark Smith were re- presented with the Midland Youth Floodlit League winner’s trophy.

There were two very poinient moments, the first being a short speech given by ex Yeltz Trust Board member Kevan Crook as he handed out the Yeltz Trust Player of the Season award in memory of Steve ‘Spitfire’ Parkes and at the same time remembered 3 Yeltz stalwarts we have lost this season: Steve Clayton, Vince Fahy and most recently Dave Parker. Later in the evening Sheila Bradley gave a moving speech in memory of Dave Parker as she accepted on his behalf a posthumous special recognition award.

Winners on the night:
Supporters Player of the Season – Paul Evans
Managers Player of the Season – Paul Evans
Players Player of the Season – Pau Evans
Harry Rudge award for most promising young player – Nathaniel Caines
(Selected by Chairman Colin Brookes)
Special recognition awards were given to: Dave Parker, Sheila Bradley, Roger Turner & David Turner.
Our thanks go to David Johnson & Richard Nevin for hosting the evening, Danielson For the entertainment, Our Plaice for providing the fish & chip supper & the Yeltzbar staff.
