10 out of 10

I thought our unbeaten start was mightily impressive but Mickleover's start is on the verge of blowing everyone away. Another 2-1 victory tonight at Barwell.

And they have won both FA Cup ties.

How come they are so good this season? Their attendances have always been paltry, so match day income won't be contributing much, although Derby County women play there.

I know they're owned by Don Amott who is big in caravans and the ground now bears his name. So he and the manager and players must be doing an exceptional job.

Obviously an brilliant start, but 6 of their 10 league matches have been against 6 of the bottom 7. They have won the other 4 games by a single goal.

So will be interesting to see how they get on against the top sides.

FYI, Don Amott is "The King of Caravans" ;) I believe he's owned them, or at least sponsored them for many years.
His yard/ depot/ shop/ site is right next door to the ground.

Their season so far has been nothing short of remarkable and so has ours. We needed to feel our feet in this league so quite rightly we had to be a bit cautious during the first handful of games (mainly in the first half of games). We therefore have room for improvement and with confidence growing in the squad I can see a chase coming on. Very reminiscent of 96. Mickleover on the other had have only one way to go and that will be backwards when the pressure comes on. We failed narrowly in 96, it will be close again this time but I have complete faith.
Cue a Bumsgrove win tonight.
Thanks for coming!

in 1996, we went to stafford rangers and lost.
they'd lost 13 on the trot

Oh yes that cost us in the end however I seem to remember a bad referee at Burton that eventually came back to haunt us. Memory fading. The ref was a fans favourite at the time.
