And i agree zeezee. I just got worried when I hear forks and shovels regarding the pitch!!!! :( . The ref will walk straight on the pitch, and if thats not playable then he wont even look at the rest of the ground. I was not sure on your plan, if you were going to start straight away at 8, or wait for the inspection at 9, to start working.

The reference to tools was but a figure of speach to say be prepared for any eventuality!

The plan is, turn up at 8, IF the ground is soft enough, assess what areas of the pitch need snow swept off it. The bigger problem will be ensuring public access and spectating areas are safe, we can make a start BEFORE the ref appears (with the shovels, napalm etc). Of course we may turn up and the pitch is solid, its then cup of tea time as there will be nothing we can do.

On the other hand at least one of the working party will be emitting toxic gases so we may be able to utilise that to melt the ice
;D

Just been down the ground and it is surprisingly soft in parts but hard in other areas. I have red pitch marking paint at wyrley which I can bring down if needed. There is still sprinklings of snow on there.

Minus 8 in my car this morning on the way to work. Pitch was frozen when I popped in this morning, especially around goalmouths and centre of pitch. A lot of games have been called off including walsall (who have frost covers!!!!).
