Attendances

I guess quite a few of the teams that would expect higher attendances in our division we're away today, but for the second week of of the season and the first home game for all of them, the crowds were poor. Only Kettering ( nearly 900), and Nuneaton topped 400. I expected higher TBH.
That said, the division we've just left was abysmal. On their opening weekend of the season six of the ten games failed to reach 200 and Hinckley v Lye got 85.

August attendances are hard to go on, as so many people are taking summer holidays - even some of the players! I’d expect another 10-15% on these numbers by September.

Just on Hinckley - it really is unbelievable that 85 people watch a game in that ground. It’s massive. You could get 2,000 in there no problem. Speaking to the locals last year there was a split and so a lot of the fan base are watching A.F.C. Hinckley who are playing at Barwell. Just seems such a waste.

Yes, the unimaginatively named AFC Hinckley were the team formed from the demise of Hinckley United. Despite playing at a lower level and playing in Barwell, whilst still not amazing, they do get more than double the numbers of Hinckley LR.

I believe that I previously clarified the Hinckley situation, thus.
It seems that Leicester Road play at the old Hinckley United stadium at Road Stadium, Leicester Rd, Hinckley and sort of used to be Hinckley United who of course used to be Hinckley Town who never played at the stadium at Road Stadium, Leicester Rd, Hinckley and Hinckley Athletic who used to be Hinckley Town and also never played at the stadium at Road Stadium, Leicester Rd, Hinckley, and shouldn't be confused with Hinckley AFC, who more sort of used to be Hinckley United and used to play at the old Hickley United stadium at Road Stadium, Leicester Rd, Hinckley, but now don't.

They’re easy.

Overspent, went bust.
Overspent, went bust.
Currently overspending…

Yes Aug attendances are always historically low - school holidays people away etc
