Hi everyone,

TL;DR: Our old Yeltz History website is gone, so I have moved to a new platform. Please sign up and follow my account. It's completely free to sign up: https://medium.com/@benbullock55

In full, Elon Musk messed with our old platform, so I am moving all of our Yeltz History articles onto Medium, a different website that I hope will have a bit more longevity.

I have been inactive for the past few months because of university, but now I have graduated I have some time this summer to make some new content. I will upload all of our existing pieces, and I have some new articles coming out very soon. So, please give the account a follow to keep up with all the latest. I need to hit 100 followers to become a properly registered account, and your support would be greatly appreciated!

Again, here is the link: https://medium.com/@benbullock55

For the first article on the new site, I thought I would re-visit one of my articles from a couple years ago. This is the newly revised and most up-to-date explainer of where "Yeltz" came from.

Why are Halesowen Town nicknamed the "Yeltz"?
It's one of the strangest nicknames in English football. But where did it come from, and why? Find out more about Halesowen's odd nickname here:

Is dear Pungas still alive? Must be over 100 now. Could have received a card from whoever the current dictator is there now but I believe he defected to North Korea with a top secret cheese recipe. Opened a delicatessen there for Hungarian expats apparently. I'm sure Ada could clarify.

The information that is, not the milk for the cheese....

New article now published on my Medium page!

This article covers some forgotten Yeltz legends of the 1920s and 30s who went on to play for professional clubs. Halesowen was, back then, quite the "nursery" for young players. The most famous player to go pro was Tommy Smart (Aston Villa), who many of you may have heard of. But there were others, too, including Bill Morris (Wolves), John Weston (Burnley) and Thomas Caldicott (West Brom). Read all about them, and why the nursery dried up, here:

Did you know that, forty years ago this month, Halesowen were in the midst of their most dominant spell ever?

This is the story of the Yeltz's remarkable 19-game win streak between October and December 1983.

Funny how times roll on. At that point it was a battle between Paul and Lee as to who scored the most goals. At Bromsgrove yesterday it was a battle between them as to who had bought the most rounds.😂
