New Attendance Record?

Post by BBNOW100 » 26 Apr 2022, 16:31

Ahead of tonight's all-important play-off game, I have some interesting attendance statistics to share that might be of interest.

Tonight the Yeltz have the chance to set a new record for highest attendance of the 21st century (so far). To do so, the crowd would need to be greater than 2,306. Here is the rundown:

Highest Attendance Since 2000: Stourbr*dge 1-2 Halesowen (War Memorial Ground, 07/10/2017) - 2,306
Highest Home Attendance Since 2000: Halesowen 0-1 Stourbr*dge (Grove Recreation, 07/03/2017) - 2,127

Totally coincidentally, tonight's game also takes place exactly 36 years since the Yeltz's final & best attended Wembley appearance, the largest crowd to have ever watched a Halesowen match:

Highest Ever Attendance: Halesowen 3-0 Southall (Wembley Stadium, 26/04/1986) - 18,340

What a great day to be a Yeltzman!

As Chasetown are supposedly bringing around 500 I predict a record crowd post 2000 of 2,500 +

Come on you Yeltz we can win this one !

Id always got it in my head that we had 3,000 for Frickley in the FA Cup in the 80's. Clearly not!! Interesting stats.

We did indeed: 2,937 people attended the home game against Frickley in the FA Cup 1985/86. However, the stats in my above post are for the 21st century only. If we were to look at the highest home attendance of all-time, that would go to the FA Cup game against Hendon in 1955 (very roughly 4,500 people watched that match).

Bigger crowds just means more wankers.

It means more decent folk too, but sadly true.

I said wankers, not passionate honest people.

Not sure where the extra 650 people to get to full capacity would’ve squeezed in!
