Looking at many comments on other football sites it seems that the severity of what we are facing is ignored for the desire of a football 'fix.'
I look forward to match days - especially during this season - but what common sense I possess tells me to look after my health and that of my nearest and dearest.
At my age I cannot take the risk.
Football is important to me, but it ain't the be all and end all of life.

Agree Lutley
I think people just want to talk about something different, focus on getting back to normality and watching some footie again. :-[

Quite right to focus on the health and well being of players and supporters alike.
Whilst I am as disappointed by the potential termination of our FA Trophy and league hopes, I think that we should all take an important consolation. If the season were to be terminated at this point we know that the revenue gained during the cup runs should be sufficient to see the club through to next season. If there is no football until next season, many clubs at a similar level may not be able to survive financially.

From SL site: https://www.betvictorsouthern.co.uk/New ... arch-2020-
It has been agreed that the League is officially suspended until 3rd April 2020. However, it should be noted that an Alliance Committee Meeting by Conference Call will be taking place during the evening of Monday 23rd March regarding the aforementioned and the season going forward. A further statement will therefore be issued on Tuesday 24th March.
No surprise on the latest delay of course, and maybe more clarity on the rest of the season next week?

Latest News

League Statement 24th March - Season 2019/20

The Alliance Leagues held the latest of several conference calls last night (Monday) after our own board, and those of the Isthmian and Northern Premier Leagues, met over the weekend to determine how we wish to proceed. We have also participated in calls with the Step 5/6 clubs.
End of season

The Step 3 & 4 Leagues share clubs’ frustration that it is taking so long to determine whether the 2019/20 season is to end now, and if so on what basis. To maintain the integrity of our competitions, we ideally need to apply one solution across all of the National League System. However, this may not be possible.

The Southern, Isthmian and Northern Premier Leagues are unanimous in wanting to terminate the 2019-20 season immediately.

Whether that is done on the basis of determining final placings via average points per game, or the season is declared null & void cannot be decided until the National League decides how it wishes to proceed.

Right now, the National League’s position is that they wish to be able to resume the 2019-20 season at some point. The feeder Leagues do not support this because our clubs do not have the financial resources to continue to honour player contracts indefinitely.

The Southern, Isthmian and Northern Premier Leagues have therefore implemented the process to terminate the season. This has to be ratified by FA council, so there may be a short delay as the relevant documentation is submitted, distributed and approved.

Whilst this process is on-going, and once the National League has finalised how it wishes to proceed, competition issues can then be decided, together with the implications for promotion and relegation.

The FA have this afternoon confirmed that the football season at steps 5 and 6 (i.e. the two levels below the Yeltz) for 2019/20 is over. The FA League committee are still to decide on promotion and relegation, or whether the season will be completely null and void. According to recent reports, there is currently a 50-50 split over which is the best decision to make regarding the conclusion of the campaign.

A further statement posted by the Essex Senior League revealed that following an online conference on Tuesday, the FA confirmed the season would end for the two steps immediately. “Following on from the pre-arranged Webex meeting today with the FA and our colleagues in Step 5 / 6 leagues, The FA have confirmed that the season 2019/20 must end immediately,” the statement read. “The consensus was there is no option of any football being played for the rest of this season due to the Coronavirus outbreak. Even if the FA were to extend, it wasn't going to be possible to complete remaining games, also subject to being allowed to socialise by May.

“The FA League Committee are to determine the terms of that conclusion which seems at present to be a 50:50 split between Points Per Game promotion/relegation or complete Null and Void of the 2019/20 season. That decision is not the leagues to make but the FA Leagues Committee. “Once a decision is conveyed to the Leagues it will be consistent across the NLS system - if null and void is the FA decision there will be NO promotion or relegation for 2019/20 season.”

Null and void would a sickener that's for sure. Points per game would put us top so even if only one went up it would be us. Hard to feel it's THAT important at the moment though I guess.

Agree. I don’t see how you can you null and void a season that is near three quarters complete. Points per game would be a fair way of deciding the league, not our fault for having games in hand due to our excellent Trophy run.

Whilst I wouldn’t object to the league finishing now but hope the Trophy games can still be played at a later date once it is safe to do so. We deserve our big crowd and possible trip to Wembley.

It's such a sad way to end the campaign. I had a quick look back on YouTube at the Barnet highlights earlier and you just can't believe what's happened since. These players have given us the most incredible season and absolutely everyone at the club was buzzing for the run-in and the semi-final. They must be devastated too.
