I’m sure that place was The last place God made :o
It really was an odd one.
A sort of low rent Weston-Super-Mare for Smoggies.
Probably a bit unfair, more like if Colley Gate was next to the sea.

I think Poll went on the train from Hexham and it took him about a fortnight.

The game was a cracker, even though we lost, and a nice bit of local colour at the end with one of their pissed yampos offering out the entire travelling support.

Without being arsed to look it up, I think we played them on the back of them having a tremendous run of unbeaten games, but after playing us, and their defeat in the 4Q, they barely won another match.
On the way home from Marske it was just me and a chicken on the station platform.

Fingers crossed for another North Eastern draw later :)
There was plenty of cocks in the ground, too.

Just listening to the draw. I nearly had a heart attack when they said it was being drawn by Geoff Moss....tyn.

Big tie but come too early for me. Still who knows we may just do it.

Tough game, but I'll take that.

At least we have genuine hope, too. This time last year we'd have all written this off as a definite and heavy defeat.

To use a term from the Paul Smith lexicon, it’s “a free hit”. We will have nothing to lose as we’ll be huge underdogs.

It’ll be a major test and great tie on paper to get a bumper crowd through the gate. So everyone get recruiting friends and family to come down. Would be fantastic to top 1,000, make some noise, and give the boys the best chance of progressing.
