'...the duo have been offered the opportunity to apply for the role.'

If I were a prospective applicant, I might think twice given the way that the vacancy has been worded. On reading that, it gives the impression that the job is theirs.

Many are saying that the directors are new to the role and given that is the case, I hope they are getting good advice on whom to appoint.

Meh. The incumbent is always offered the chance to apply for the role when restructuring, out of commercial politeness.
And they never get it.

That probably is normally the case, but I’m not sure it applies to this situation. What makes me think that is Hughes being at the forum in an official capacity. That suggests it’s already a done deal

I don't understand why people are complaining about the timing. Managerial roles come up 12 months a year in football. Always have done.

From Halesowen News

Lee Hughes says he's yet to decide if to apply for next season's vacant manager's job at Halesowen Town.

He said: "I'm not sure at the moment. It's a big decision for me because I need to decide if I still want to play next season.

"I don't feel like I can do both. I either need to be a player or a manager and just focus on one or the other, so it's really about having to decide if I want to retire.

It's a big decision and so many players have told me over the years not to retire unless you have to. I do still enjoy playing and have been lucky with injuries as well.

"I'll just sit down with Asa at the end of the season and have a think about what to do.
