Wheels- wasn’t it Jack Allward who went in goal after Bussey got sent off in that game? I think Hummel was playing as well...
You are quite correct. What I'm recalling is as Erik stepped up to take the penalty which he missed you were stood next to me and shouting Erik the Viking as I recall. I googled Erik out of interest and is or was an analyst for the MLS in case people are wondering why you would shout Erik the Viking on Google there is a picture of him in a suit which illustrates why such a thing would be shouted
Nick Bussey had a few rash moments; I remember Darren Caskey saving a penalty against Evesham after he got sent off , although it was late in the game.

Add Alex Cowley to the main list.

Controversial maybe... but Stefan Moore is also a shout. Goals per game he has got to be up there with / better than Ben Haseley.

And even more controversially- if he had hung around longer Stu Pierpoint. Shame he now plays for them up the road...

Hmm Stephan didn't play that many games but had a fantastic goal ratio, almost 1 in 1.
Pierpoint felt more like one of us though (blotted his copybook now though ::) ) so a possibility. Feel like we're lowering the bar somewhat now though, may be time to put together legend teams.

Strange that Deano hasn’t had a mention until now. A short spell but what a player.
A sort of keepy-upppy goal against Wellingborough lives long in the memory as does the Dynasty hair.

I guess it could be how legends are judged. As you say Doc, Deano only had a half a season but what a sensational time it was.
My team is those that have given me most enjoyment. Several were borderline for getting in there.

I remember he was one of John Morris’ first signings in the autumn (Graham Price the first?). He was only 19 and struggled at first, scoring only once before Xmas. A friendly against Wednesfield was arranged to help Andy Pearce & Steve Morrall coming back from their injuries. Deano scored twice in our 4-0 win and as we left JR said it could be his turning point. I said I doubted that, Wednesfield weren’t much good. 6 months later he was off to Villa for £30k. Shows how much I know, please ignore my selections 😏
