I think you may have missed the point I was trying to convey. There's nothing to know other than he's very pleased with the appointment. He hopes we get a decent crowd. Loves everyone on this forum.............that can't be right :P

Interesting to see that the Caretaker manager at Hednesford has called on twitter to find players after being left with a ‘depleated squad’. Could this be a sign that some players may have followed Rob and Larry out? We shall see...

I think its inevitable that we 'poach' a number of players from Hednesford. The management duo will instantly know what they will get, know their strengths and weaknesses. It's almost a no brainer.

I think the more interesting aspect of the change in management is who they keep and who they let go.

I know we've become accustomed to a constant player turnaround over the past 2-3 years with Hill's revolving door policy, and I fully expect to see more comings and going in the comings weeks as Smith moulds his squad, but I hope this will be a relatively quick process, as one thing we need going forward is a settled and consistent side.

The situation at Hednesford isn't helped (for them) by the fact their owner wants rid of it. So budget wise, Rob and Larry have probably had a similar situation their that we had the past two or three seasons in their final few months in Cannock.
I'd be surprised if at least one Hednesford player doesn't get approached, but I imagine if they have a much better budget at the Yeltz then they'll go after far better players (no disrespect to the Hednesford squad).
All we can do is get behind them for as long as they're here (hopefully long), the majority of AFC Teflord and Hednesford fans commenting on social media, who aren't morons, are certainly saying good things about them.

Well it cerainly feels like the mood in the camps uplifted. Credit to the Brookes family. They gave JH and MC a chance and acted when it didnt work. I think at the moment our squads thin on the ground and it'll take a few weeks to bed in, but Im certainly optimistic.

Rob scored his only goal in the 3-0 win at Alvechurch on 31/10/1990. But what else was notable for the Yeltz in that game??

Love the quiz question but a bit before my time I think. Was it Lee Joinson’s last game for the club? I remember Paul played on for a bit longer so bit of a stab in the dark.

Our 1st and only win at alvechurch after 11 defeats before.
Great valid answer from Yeltz7 which I hadn't thought of and mightily close from piearce9, but here's the answer I had in mind:

Lee Joinson scored his final and 244th goal for Halesowen in that game at Alvechurch (he played one more game in the starting 11, together with a few substitute appearances in the following weeks though).

Interesting reading on the (other) HTFC forum- they sound a bit like we probably did last season.

Nice comments generally about the management duo and good to read a few positive remarks about the style of football. We all know there's a massive job to be done at the club this season but this appointment gives me confidence that we can really start to build from here. (Starting with signing Curley and Griffiths- ;D )
We have now signed both Curley and Griffiths :-[
