Andy A. - Incorrect, yet frighteningly amusing. I'd totally forgotten about Charlie until now. Lucky me (until now).

Sprouter - that is the correct answer.

Frank's dad was on 15 to 1, with William G. String.

And, to put people out of my misery, he was the person knocked out four from the end, which for those that remember the program, means that he was the last one out before the final round.

Correct Franko?

It was the late Tom Cole on countdown and I beleive he was champion (the wonder horse) for one day.

Brilliant recall from our Antipodean ami.

I should have remembered that as well because he went to my school.

Nice to have you back on here Big 'Un.

I think you may be referring to Tom Rock who was on Countdown and was a massive Yeltz fan.

Tom Rock - that sounds more like it.

Big 'Un, did you mean, "the late"?

Goodness, I hope not.

Tom died in tragic circumstances a few years ago.

Wow, I remember him as a quiet but very highly intelligent lad a few years below me at King Edward's, Edgbaston.

Really sorry to hear that he died at a young age.
