No friendly on August 4th?

This isn't a moan (for a change!) but an observation - if we don't find a friendly for the 4th August, we'd have had two Saturdays during pre-season without a friendly. Which does seem a little odd.

Is this planned? Have teams dropped out? Just curious as to the reason.

As you were.

I hope there is one arranged as I have a free Saturday that day.

If not I could be tempted with a random ground hop trip somewhere to pass the time away.

Still nothing for this Sat or the following Tuesday, unless I've missed an announcement?

We won't play them as we've got them in the league in less than two weeks

Is it, or should it be relevant? It's surely better to play a match than not to play a match?

It doesn't bother me if we have a friendly against sides in our league, should it? Am I missing something?

Have seen on Twitter Newport Town has a friendly cancelled and JH has attempted to approach them. They play in WMRL 1 I think

Just me then! Can't see the harm personally, is there a fear we may give away tactics or something? Even then, I'd have thought Banbury would be scouting us, anyway?

Obviously playing a side in a friendly that you'll be playing in a matter of day in a league match isn't ideal, admittedly, but Banbury are of a higher standard than Newport Town, so it'd be more beneficial to judge players against a side we'll be playing in the league, rather than a side that will ultimately flatter our players.

Just interested to know if I'm missing something, or is it just 'they're in our league'?
